Please note that both the terms, IAF (India Awareness Foundation) and BAF (Bharat Awareness Forum) are used on this site.
India Awareness Foundation was earlier known as India Awareness Forum until Oct-2005.
Since the dawn of Vedic Civilization Bharat (India) has made significant contributions to the world civilization, culture, and knowledge in all spheres of human activities. Most of these contributions even today remain unknown to the wider world and in many cases unacknowledged and often distorted.
The present day Indian psyche has been highly influenced by nearly one thousand years of foreign domination and distortion of the Indian history. Even educated Indians are made to believe that their religion and their culture are primitive and that their forefathers did not contribute in any significant way to the world knowledge resulting into a loss of self-esteem. The sum of these factors has resulted in creating an ignorant, indifferent, and confused Indian society.
Keeping the above background in mind, Bharat Awareness Forum (BAF) was formed in August 1999. BAF is a non-profit independent entity for participation to all persons irrespective of color, national origin, ethnicity, or religion.

Since March 2000, the ‘ India Awareness Foundation (IAF) - previously - Bharat Awareness Forum (BAF), Atlanta (USA)’ carried out an intense campaign to generate awareness about the Kashmir imbroglio, by its petitions to the Prime Minister of India and the Indian Lok Sabha.
The IAF is a non-profit voluntary organization committed to Indian culture, philosophy, traditions and values. IAF stands committed to India’s strength and integrity and has undertaken an aggressive awareness campaign regarding the Kashmir-imbroglio.
The IAF submitted to the Prime Minister of India and to the Leader of the Opposition in the Indian Lok Sabha a petition, known as the ‘CIF - Consolidation and Integration First - Petition’ , which asks for a non-partisan national consensus to abrogate the Article 370. This petition was submitted to the Prime Minister of India on June 10, 2000.
Subsequently, on August 22, 2000, IAF joined hands with four other organizations (of Kashmiri Hindus) to submit another petition to the Prime Minister of India, the ‘ATFH - Anti-terrorism Firm Handling - Petition’ . The ATFH petition asks terrorism to be dealt with firmly.
In addition, IAF is leading an awareness campaign amongst Non-resident Indians through electronic postings on a few egroups, and partnered sponsoring a rally in Washington DC on 14-Sept-2000 to draw attention of the visiting Indian Prime Minister to the plights of Kashmiri Hindus.
